The Girl of Sunshine

04 Apr

The girl of sunshine
Your sun is so shy
When you pass over me
The lights don’t let me see
I’d like some rain for you sometimes
To wash out envious liers’ lies
I’d like for you sometimes the snow
To cold your fire and make pain go
If I were too close to you
You would burn me all
And if I were too far from you
I would die in dark white cold
Waiting for the sunrise all the night
All the thoughts are painted bright
My heart is hanging at the highest noon
I’ll take your rays from flowers soon
Asking people you see sun there?
I will expect they are aware
As everyone has his own sun
It always stands before the man.
I never feel lonely with my star of the day
When you are here I’m in the safest bay
If I were walking through the heavy clouds
If there were grievous darkness around
I’d see the pure sunrise in blackness
I’d see your sunbeams of whiteness.

There’s very natural beauty and music at the end of every verse. I really enjoy your poetry. In spite of this not being my forte, I can at least tell you it’s a pleasure reading your work.

And the pleasure of mine is writing it.

    Keep up the good work!

    • Guy Nickwell

      05/04/2012 at 5:37 pm

It’s great as long as the image isn’t blured by fluency.

Hello. Thank you stopping by my blogg and liking my poem “Mathematically yours”.

I’d like to read more of your free verse work not just that confined to AB rhyming couplets. I know I’m just coming across as petty and jealous but keep blogging, I’m intrigued, long may your success and style evolve.

Really sorry if this offends but I must say I’m a bit envious of your blogg, Seriously three poems and 675 followers? Is this your only blogg? Your hit counter must be through the roof?

The first line powerfully sets the tone for me. Sunshine is so ancient and vast, but a girl is a girl for such a short time and she is the center of her universe. Love requires so much vulnerability.

    08/04/2012 at 12:59 pm

    Guy Nickwell,
Sometimes we don’t see what is right in front of us. Be aware there are two types of memories, Body and mind. Your mind will tell you anything you want to hear; Your body will react with your truth. If the sunshine is shy with you, why? The rain cleanses, washes away all the negativity. The snow represents pain but yet the snow will freeze that time. You will burn by fire if you’re to close, but if you’re to far you’ll freeze from cold. Seems to me, your shy and want the sunshine blazing bright to warm your soul. “NOW WHAT?” P.S. Love how you write!

Magic…the marriage of word and image, the synastry, the beauty, the bliss! I am the girl of sunshine. Well maybe not “the” girl, but “a” girl of sunshine for certain. A flame…a star…a wave…a flood….and this is a beautiful site. However did you find me? 🙂 Happy Day!

Not really a poetry guy here but I really liked this one because it reminded me of The Girl with a Parasol by Monet (I love this kind of paintings) and together with the picture you chose and the verses it made me feel like you were talking about them both which I think is strange, and at the same time, endearing.
